Day 4 - 5/21
I started off my last day of work by going to Lowes. I got a few more bags of rock, which I had to carry over again. I also got bird seed to fill up the bird feeders with. I removed the plants and the stones that I had put there before so that I could put the new rocks down. I ended up moving the plants and stones around as well. The rocks covered all of the paper, and I was really satisfied. I started putting the stones back, and it was hard to get them in properly when there's so many rocks. After that I just put my plants back on the stones. Then I filled up the bird feeders, and I was done. I thought it looked great. The final product is below, from two different angles. I was super happy with how it turned out, and if you go back to my first post and see where I started, the transformation is shocking.
Overall I would say I learned a lot from this project. I've never really done any sort of gardening project before. I had fun with it. I kind of wish that it wasn't so hot and that the stakes weren't so hard to put in. Other than that, everything went pretty smooth. The only help that I had was from my mom. She picked most of the stuff out and walked me through what I needed to do. She was very helpful and I wouldn't have gotten far without her. Am I going to start gardening now? Probably not. But that doesn't matter. I enjoyed my project for what it was and I'm glad that's what I decided to do. It was something new for me. I was incredibly satisfied with the final product, especially seeing where it started from.
